Federal Minister for Information Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and National Security Advisor to Prime Minister Moeed Yusuf said Pakistan was facing an “Info-Warfare” from India and Afghanistan especially.

According to the 24news HD TV channel, both the federal ministers Wednesday held a press conference in Islamabad and said some national parties were also involved in fueling this anti-Pakistani warfare.

They said mostly the opponents of Pakistan were using social media as a major propaganda tool against Pakistan and India was at the forefront of social media trends against Pakistan

Fawad said India had launched a social media campaign against Pakistan through fake accounts and Pushtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) also run 150 anti-Pakistan trends on social media.

The information minister said they had collected the last two years data of the social media data.

About the Indian role in the info-warfare, Fawad said Senator Usman Kakar died of a brain haemorrhage but India runs a fake trend on him and made 2,000 tweets from its social media accounts.

He said a trend of accusing Zulfi Bukhari was also run on social media in which alleged him for visiting Israel and the later too launched a trend on social media with 10,000 tweets in this regard.

The minister further informed that the opposition party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl group (JUI-F) media teams took an active part in the Israeli trend.

Fawad confirmed that foreign hands were ever involved in spreading all kinds of riots in Pakistan and some social media accounts from abroad were involved in attempting sectarian and linguistic hatred and riots in Pakistan.

He said Indian TV channels uploaded several hours of videos against Pakistan based on the Noor Muqaddam case.

The federal minister said ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was a real representative of the federation and it had become popular all over the country

Moeed while talking to the media said Pakistan was facing information warfare which we had proved through the statistics and social media in Afghanistan and India were being used against Pakistan.

He said mostly the anti-national elements used social media for propaganda against Pakistan

The advisor to PM said attempts were also being made to blame Pakistan for the 20 years failure of coalition forces in Afghanistan and Afghan National Security Adviser's Office was running a campaign.

Moeed said the Pakistani state, army and especially the CPEC were being targeted through the hybrid war. He further stated that robot technology was also being used to drive social media trends and hashtags against Pakistan.

He said there was no fault of Pakistan if the Afghan army was surrendering instead of fighting against the Taliban. Fake news and propaganda news against Pakistan has the full patronage of the Afghan government, he added.

Answering a query, the advisor to PM said there was no talk of US sanctions against Pakistan as it had no justification too.
