Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azam Khan, has called for the resignation of the entire cabinet, as confirmed by official sources.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, this development comes after the Election Commission of Pakistan urged the Chief Minister to eliminate ministers with political affiliations from the cabinet.
In response to the call, a total of 19 cabinet members have already submitted their resignations to the Caretaker Chief Minister. This decision highlights a concerted effort to ensure a transparent and impartial electoral process.
However, eight cabinet members are yet to tender their resignations, according to official sources. This process underscores a pivotal shift in the region's political landscape, aiming to curtail undue political influence within the government.
The Election Commission's directive to remove ministers with political connections is a step towards fostering a level playing field for the upcoming elections.
