Grand welcome awaits Golden Boy Arshad Nadeem in Lahore tonight

Preparations were being given final touches as the authorities scramble to put together a historic welcome at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport tonight for Pakistan’s Olympic hero, who struck Gold at the Paris Games with a record-smashing javelin throw the other day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rapturous celebrations are in store as Pakistan’s Golden Boy Arshad Nadeem heads back to the country. At the moment, he has reached Istabul from Paris Airport and heading to Lahore.

The gold medallist is scheduled to arrive Lahore at 1 am Saturday night, with the entire nation eagerly awaiting to have a glimpse of him.
Arshad’s arrival will be celebrated with a grand reception, reflecting the immense pride his achievement has brought to the country.
The Athletics Federation of Pakistan and the Sports Board Punjab are making extensive preparations to honour the national hero. Arshad’s coach, Salman Butt, will also be present to join the celebrations, as the country comes together to recognize the joy and honour Arshad Nadeem has brought to Pakistan.
Punjab Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar and Education Minister Rana Sikandar and other officials will warmly receive Arshad Nadeem at the airport.
The Olympic hero will be brought out of the airport in a double-decker bus of the Punjab Tourism Department where citizens will be able to have a glimpse of the Golden Boy.
Lahore Police have also readied a plan to extend VIP protocol to the national hero. Along with elite force personnel, a heavy contingent of police will also be deployed at the airport and will later travel with Arshad Nadeem’s double-decker bus.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has directed party leaders and workers to reach airport for welcoming Arshad Nadeem.
Before travelling to Paris Airport, Arshad Nadeem visited Pakistan Embassy in Paris where he was welcomed with patriotic slogans, drum beat. People gathered to meet him had selfies with him.
The Pakistani hero also visited Eiffel Tower in Paris where people surrounded him and requested him for autographs and pictures.
