Mountaineer Murad Sadpara has met with an accident while attempting to summit Broad Peak and is in urgent need of rescue, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to the channel report, fellow climber Naila Kiani and Murad Sadpara's family have appealed to the Pakistan Army for immediate assistance.

The family has requested that the Pakistan Army dispatch four climbers from Skardu to Broad Peak Crampon Point to safely bring Murad Sadpara back.

Broad Peak is one of the eight-thousandths and is located in the Karakoram range, spanning Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, and Xinjiang, China. It is the 12th highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,051 meters above sea level.

Last year, on July 19, Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Sadpara climbed the 8047-meter Broad Peak without using supplementary oxygen or Sherpas.

In a social media post, Sajid said, “Broad Peak summited without the use of supplemental oxygen and assistance.”.
