Punjab's Azadi Float ready to embark on journey celebrating independence

To mark Independence Day, the Punjab Government's Azadi Float is all set for its journey, showcasing the cultural and artistic heritage of Pakistan.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the float will depart from the Rawalpindi Arts Council and make its way to Gujar Khan, with vibrant representations from all four provinces prominently displayed. The float also includes elements representing Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, featuring models of significant historical landmarks like the Mazar-e-Quaid and Bab-e-Khyber. The float will cover a distance of 300 kilometres, travelling along the Grand Trunk (GT) Road to Lahore, where it will be welcomed in every city along its route.
The Azadi float features cultural representations of the four provinces, the Parliament of Azad Kashmir and a model of the Emborak Mosque in Gilgit-Baltistan.
On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, there will be plantation marathon competitions among all the districts. There will also be a literary recital and a musical concert at Minar Pakistan. After six years, a new song will also be launched under the Department of Information and Culture.
Assembly Members, Civil Society will participate in "Plant a Tree for Pakistan" drive in their areas. For the first time, free plantation will also be done at the Union Council level in the province.
The plantation will also be made in hospitals, Fountain House, Old Age Home, Dar Al-Shafaqat and other private institutes.
Videos and photos of the plantation will be uploaded on PITB's plantation dashboard while Chief Minister will reward the district with the most plantations. While flag hoisting ceremonies will be organized at all divisional, district and tehsil headquarters.
Cricket, hockey, football, volleyball and kabaddi competitions will be held on the occasion of Independence Day. The local players will also be invited for plantation under Plant for Pakistan. The government buildings will be illuminated with white and green lights and national flags will be displayed on prominent roads and squares while national anthems will also be played on prominent highways.
