ECP registers 8 new political parties including Kisan Ittihad

The number of political parties registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has increased to 135 after registering 8 new parties.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECP has registered new eight political parties that would be eligible to participate in the next general election scheduled in 2023.

Awami Tehreek, Pakistan Mohafiz Party (National), Qaumi Awami Tehreek Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Ittihad, First Democratic Front, Pakistan People's Alliance, Pakistan Aam Aadmi Movement and Kisan Ittihad are included in the newly registered political parties in the ECP.

Interestingly, out of 135 political parties registered in the ECP, only 16 are part of the sitting parliament. The ECP has also released the list of the latest parties.
