Govt fixes ticket of Rs50 for visitors of Badshahi Mosque

The government has decided to charge Rs50 per person for those visiting Mazar-e-Iqbal and Badshahi Masjid, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Saturday.
The Lahore district administration has also decided to open the historical first gate of the Lahore Walled City—Roshnai Gate after 12 years.
A special meeting of the district management was held here under the chair of Deputy Commissioner and decided to fix an entry ticket to generate the revenue.
As per the decision, those entering from the Roshnai Gate will have to buy a ticket, while those entering the Shahi Qila (Royal Lahore Fort) will have to buy a double ticket.
The Walled City Authority will charge Rs50 per ticket for visitors to both venues.
Earlier, there was no ticket to visit the shrine of national poet Allama Iqbal and Badshahi but now who will enter Badshahi Masjid, Minar Pakistan and Mazar-e-Iqbal through Roshnai Gate will have to buy tickets.
In this way, the entrance to the Lahore Fort will also be possible by taking a ticket twice.
According to the sources, administrations of Badshahi Mosque and the Department of Religious Affairs had not taken into confidence about the decision.
