Islamabad’s govt hospitals to have one patient, one ID system

The federal government has decided to introduce one patient and one ID system at Islamabad’s four government hospitals, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the Coordinator to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Mukhtar Berth, under the system, which in the first phase is being introduced at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), every patient visiting these hospitals will have his or her own ID, which will have a complete record of the diagnosis of their diseases as well as results of different tests conducted.
He has said that an Information Management System will be introduced at these hospitals and that all record of the patients will be digitalized.
Berth has informed that the process to upgrade the infrastructure at the federal capital’s government hospitals is underway. “Easy access to a patient’s record will ensure his or her treatment at a brisk pace.”
