Zardari calls upon UN to strictly implement its charter on human rights

Former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has called upon the United Nations to play an effective role in ensuring respect for human rights in the world, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
In his message on the occasion of International Human Rights Day today, Zardari urged the United Nations to strictly implement its Charter on Human Rights.
He said that the Israeli army is violating human rights in Gaza. Occupied Kashmir has been made the largest prison in the world by the Narendra Modi government.
Zardari held that war frenzy and extremism are signs of deviation from human rights.
He said that the democratic countries of the world should raise their voices against the oppression of the Palestinian people.

In his message on International Human Rights Day, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that protection and promotion of human rights is one of the top priorities of the PPP.
He said that the PPP manifesto regarding the upcoming general elections will also be a manifestation of such priorities:
He said that the Quaid Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto ensured the protection of human rights through this unified constitution, which is his gift to the nation.
Shaheed Bhutto envisaged equal freedom and rights for all citizens whether Muslim or non-Muslim through the Constitution.
A comprehensive human rights policy was adopted by the party's previous government in Sindh.
The aim of the said policy is to ensure that every part of the provincial government plays its role to protect and promote the human rights of all citizens.
Bilawal said that the former Sindh government established Treaty Implementation Cell (TIC) under Human Rights Department to implement international human rights treaties
By strengthening the TIC, the former Sindh government ensured the implementation of the international agreements ratified by the government of Pakistan, he added.
The previous PPP government of Sindh also took steps to provide free legal assistance to poor victims of human rights violations.
In Pakistan, all citizens, especially minorities, have equal rights and procedures have been devised to prevent these violations.
He said that the PPP is determined to protect human rights.
Bilawal said that atrocities against women, children or weaker sections of the society will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He said that the continuous violation of human rights in Occupied Kashmir and Palestine is a threat to world peace and an insult to humanity.
The international community must take immediate notice of the ongoing aggression in Occupied Kashmir and Gaza, he added.
The PPP chairman said that the PPP would continue to fight for human rights according to the vision of its founding chairman Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
He said that the PPP has established a human rights cell of the party to work on human rights in the country.
