ECP letter to NAB for action against misuse of KP helicopter

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Saturday wrote a letter to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) demanding Imran Khan and other unauthorised persons to be declared defaulter for using Pakhtunkhwa helicopters and resources, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The ECP demanded the list of all the defaulters from NAB and said that it will be sent for further proceedings.

According to NAB, over 1800 illegal trips, in two official helicopters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were made in the last two years out of which, 588 trips were made by politicians while 577 were made by government officials.

The remaining 635 were made by other persons illegally. The documents revealed that all the unauthorized persons who used the choppers still have more than Rs198.3 million to pay for the usage. Out of the arrears, the politicians have to pay more than Rs96.8 million while the government officials have to pay more than Rs50.8 million and all the other unauthorized persons are in debt of more than Rs50million.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly had declared the use of helicopters legal while the PML-N challenged the amendment of the law related to the use of helicopters in the Peshawar High Court.
