All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Chairman Abdus Sammi Khan said on Saturday there was no shortage of fuel in Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As far as Punjab was concerned, he went on to say, there was an issue of demand and supply. “In Punjab some pumps owners hoarded petrol, which resulted in its shortage,” he said, adding action was taken against these pump owners.

Abdus Sammi said the Association was in contact with the government as well as oil marketing companies.

He was of the view that it would be unfair to paint all pump owners in Punjab with the same brush. “There are 500 pumps in Karachi where there is no issue of petrol shortage at all,” he said, and added, “One thing we should all understand is that shortage develops when people are in a rush to buy petrol.”

He appealed to people not to lend ears to rumours and do not buy petrol in panic.
