In response to the prevailing severe cold weather and the associated risk of pneumonia outbreaks, the Punjab School Education Department has issued comprehensive directives to ensure the safety and well-being of students, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per the issued directions, both public and private schools are instructed to observe holidays for classes prep, nursery, and below until 19th January 2024.

The directive further mandates the compulsory wearing of face masks for all students, teachers, and employees within school premises. This preventive measure aligns with the ongoing efforts to curb the spread of respiratory illnesses, including pneumonia.

To provide additional protection against the cold, students are permitted to wear any warm clothing of their choice, deviating from the standard uniform regulations during this period.

In conjunction with these measures, morning assemblies and all outdoor activities within school premises will remain suspended until 31st January.

Acknowledging the health concerns, the directive stipulates that any unwell child must stay at home until a complete recovery is achieved.

In line with these safety protocols, no examinations of any kind will be conducted until 19th January 2024.

The implementation of these directives serves as a crucial step in safeguarding the educational community and mitigating health risks associated with severe cold weather.
