Punjab CM renews resolve to finish Lahore Zoo upgrade by Jan 31

Punjab Chief Minister paid a visit to Lahore Zoo late Wednesday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Speaking to the media following the visit, he said that his team, including the provincial minister, is working on the Zoo upgrade project
The Forest secretary shifted his office to the Zoo, he said and hoped the project would be finished on time.
The new animals will be procured as soon the upgrade nears completion and the new animals will be brought after the 100% completion of work on their cages, the chief minister said, adding that proper arrangements will have to be made before moving the new animals as they go into depression during shifting.
“We understand the zoo is closed. By January 31, the new animals will land and it will open.” He also shed light on the Safari Zoo project and safety measures for the animals.
He reiterated his resolve to continue with his campaign to ensure better public service delivery.
Regarding the death of children due to pneumonia, he said preventive measures are being taken to save the children and the education department issued notification regarding SOPs.
Nursery and prep classes have been closed while school uniform conditions have been relaxed and the use of masks has been made mandatory, he stressed, adding that all the people must take safe steps to avert health hazards.
He said the renovation of the shrines is underway, and the Punjab government is up to complete it at the earliest.
Regarding the healthcare initiatives, he said the cabinet approved medicines for cancer patients
“The Benazir Income Support Programme is a matter of federal government. The Punjab government has nothing to do with it.
“If there is any administrative problem in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I cannot solve it. The Government there has to do it. I will fix the problems in Punjab “
