In the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, Karachi Kings are set to clash with Peshawar Zalmi today at the National Stadium in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm PST due to Ramadan. This timing will remain the same from today’s match until the final match of PSL.
Despite being eliminated from the tournament, the Kings will be playing for pride. They currently stand with eight points from nine matches.
Even a victory in today’s match would not secure them a spot in the playoffs, as they would still fall short of the top four teams’ points.
However, the Kings are entering the match on a high note, having secured a thrilling victory over Lahore Qalandars on Saturday. The Kings chased down Lahore’s total of 177-5 on the last ball of the final over.
On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi, who have already qualified for the playoffs with 11 points from nine matches, will also enter the match with confidence.
Their recent 76-run victory over the Quetta Gladiators has boosted their morale. The team’s success can be attributed to their in-form openers, Babar Azam and Saim Ayub, who have consistently provided solid starts.
The probable playing XIs for both teams have been announced.
The Kings’ lineup includes James Vince, Shan Maso0d (c), Saad Baig (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, Hasan Ali, Tabraiz Shamsi, Mir Hamza, and Mohammad Amir Khan.
The Zalmi’s lineup includes Saim Ayub, Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Haris (wk), Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Rovman Powell, Asif Ali, Dan Mousley, Aamer Jamal, Luke Wood, Mohammad Zeeshan, and Salman Irshad.
