Two people were killed and five others sustained injuries as two groups clashed over a land dispute in the Ghulam Ali area of North Waziristan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

According to police, gunfire was exchanged between the people belonging to Sher Khel and Bori Khel tribes, which resulted in the deaths and injuries to one of the parties.

The two persons killed in the clash were identified as Yousuf Khan and Rehmatullah.

Meanwhile, the injured – Barkat Khan, Rehmat Khan, Fazal, Afsar Khan and Karimullah – were rushed to the DHQ Hospital in Miranshah.

Use of lethal weapons is common in tribal disputes in the country where people often resort to violence over property, marriage and other petty issues.

Last week, a brawl among children claimed the lives of nine people in the Kharianawala area of Sheikhupura district.

According to details, the children belonging to two groups of Jutt clan had a scuffle on Friday, which triggered the deadly episode.

On Saturday morning, the elders of the two rival sides clashed again during wheat harvesting. As a result, one of the groups led by Soli Jutt opened fire, killing eight and injuring two others.  The victims belonged to the Khadim Jutt group.
