PTI leader and former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan cannot afford a new war in the region as Pakistan already has strained relations with neighbours including India, Iran and Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference at the residence of PTI MNA Asif Khan, former Speaker National Assembly said that Pakistan’s trade with Afghanistan had been closed completely, and it has become difficult for Pashtun to earn bread and butter for their families.

He said Pashtun have always been used in wars first against Russia and again in war against terrorism. He urged the government to open trade with Afghanistan.

Qaiser said Pashtun wants education, peace and employment in their region. He said FATA districts were merged with KP but their funds were stopped by the Centre.

He said PTI got a heavy mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the Centre was not giving funds to the provincial government which was an insult to the public mandate.

Qaiser said PTI will raise the issue of shortage and non-provision of development funds to the KP government.

He said that on the one hand, PTI will start a protest drive against the centre while on the other side, PTI will move to the court to seek funds from the centre.

Asad Qaiser said the PTI was not holding talks with any of the stakeholders, adding that the PTI will hold talks with the elected government while the present government is not elected it was the production of form 47.
