Pakistan Muslim League-Q central leader Senator Kamil Ali Agha has stressed the need for developing Gilgit-Baltistan.

“The PML-Q has never made false promises. We have always delivered,” he said in a public meeting as part of electioneering for his party candidate Capt (r) Shafi in GB-3.

Kamil Ali Agha came hard on ex-premier Nawaz Sharif for criticising the armed forces. He said his party stands by the armed forces as it believed national unity for making a Pakistan a stronger state.

He urged the locals to vote his party candidate so that their problems could be resolved.

He listed the PML-Q feats, saying:  “The PML-N and the PPP are talking about giving Gilgit-Baltistan the status of the interim province while ex-PM Ch Shujaat Hussain gave GB the status of the legislative assembly and empowered it.

“We made Karakoram University, constructed 7,000km roads for the first time.  Our plan was to construct dual carriageway to link Ghazar with new Russian states keeping in view trade purposes.  But it could not be accomplished after the PML-Q government’s term.”

Shafi and PML-Q General Secretary Asif Qureshi also spoke.
