NA Speaker vows strict action as new committee probes MNAs' arrests

Following the suspension of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has formed a new committee to investigate the arrests of members from the Parliament House.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the committee is headed by Additional Secretary Iftikhar Laghmani and includes Joint Secretary Rizwanullah and Acting Sergeant-at-Arms Raja Farhat Abbas.
Sources in the Parliament House said that the special committee has begun its inquiry, closely examining footage from all cameras within the Parliament House.
The investigation aims to identify who was responsible for cutting off the power supply to the Parliament House during the incident.
The Speaker has instructed the committee to complete the investigation and submit a comprehensive report within 48 hours.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasised that there would be no leniency towards those who violated the sanctity of the Parliament, and strict actions would be taken against anyone found guilty of disrespecting the institution, including members of the Islamabad administration and police.
The Speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, stressed that maintaining the dignity of the Parliament is paramount, and those responsible for any misconduct will face severe consequences.
