Coronavirus deaths, cases climb up in Pakistan

Pakistan recorded more deaths and cases from the coronavirus with the total number of patients shooting up to 5,138 after addition of 107 new cases on Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre figures, the death toll from the deadly pandemic has risen to 88.

Punjab has the most coronavirus cases with tally standing at 2,432, Sindh 1,411, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 697, Balochistan 228, Gilgit Baltistan 216, Islamabad Capital Territory 119 and Azad Kashmir 35.

Out of the total 5,038 cases detected so far, 1,039 have been recovered fully.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded most deaths at 31, followed by Sindh 30, Punjab 21, Gilgit Baltistan three, Balochistan two and Islamabad one.

The authorities have so far conducted 61,801 tests 2,805 of which during the last 24 hours.

The local transmission ratio is 49 percent and the transmission through foreign travel is 51 percent.
