PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday said the incident a day earlier was a “well-thought-out act far more sinister in nature” as she shared the visuals of her damaged vehicle.

The political heiress of former premier Nawaz Sharif, in a tweet asked the people to “see this and decide if it was only pelting of stones or a well-thought-out act far more sinister in nature.”

The police were unaware that the car was an armoured one, she said and added that it happened only because “when you can’t prosecute, persecute”.

In video clip filmed by herself, Maryam said one could see how the vehicle was damaged from all sides with stones and rocks.

She questioned whether the windscreen of an armoured or bulletproof vehicle could be damaged by a stone like that. “I cannot say what it was but it was something greater than a stone,” Maryam remarked.

This latest tweet came after she told a press conference on Tuesday that the NAB had summoned her to cause physical harm to her, as she shared the details of how her vehicle was targeted with stones.

Maryam said huge stones were thrown from behind the barricades placed outside the NAB office, causing a crack in the windscreen.

Had she not been in a bulletproof vehicle, she would have received serious injuries, Maryam said while citing the video clap she had earlier shared on Twitter.

The police suddenly resorted to teargassing and pelting stones, she said and added that the government panicked after seeing a huge crowd as they were not expecting such a large gathering.

Also on Wednesday, the PML-N moved a local court in Lahore on Wednesday to get an attempt to murder case registered against Prime Minister Imran Khan, his adviser Shahzad Akbar and others over the previous day’s incident in which Maryam was targeted.

NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal, NAB Lahore DG and other unidentified men also among 100 people nominated in the application filed with the court by Capt Safdar through Farhad Ali Shah Advocate.

It is stated in the application that Maryam was summoned to the NAB office under a conspiracy for carrying out an assassination attempt. Stones were pelted at her vehicle and her life would have been in danger if it wasn’t bulletproof. As a result, she was immediately moved out of the area to secure her life.

Through the application, it is requested that the court should order the Chung Police Station to get the case registered.

The court was moved after the PML-N reached the said police station for registering the case but the officials refused to accept the application.

That why Marriyum Aurangzeb had said that the police were not cooperating with them and they would have to move judiciary for the registration of FIR.
