Pakistan all-rounder and former cricket captain Shoaib Malik will travel to English city of Southampton on August 15 as he has been tested negative for the Covid-19. He will take part in the three T20 Internationals against England to be played at the end of this month.
However, the middle-order hard-hitter before leaving for England will travel to Dubai where he will reunite with his family and will spend some time with them.
Shoaib Malik's reunion with his wife Sania Mirza has been delayed due to the ban on international flights in India. The power couple was set to reunite in July after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had allowed Malik to miss four weeks of training to be with his wife but they haven't been able to meet due to the lockdown and other restrictions.
The coronavirus restrictions and travel had seen Sania and Malik staying away for more than six months.
Earlier in an interview, Sania had said that she doesn't know when they will meet again. “So he got stuck in Pakistan, I got stuck here. That was very difficult to deal with because we have a small child. We don’t know when Izhaan will be able to see his father again. It’s as basic as that.
“We are both pretty positive and practical people. He has a mother who is over 65 and by herself, so he needs to be there. So in the end, it worked out best that he was there with her. We hope we are healthy and come out of this on the right side of it,” she had said.
Now, Shoaib Malik will undergo another coronavirus test upon reaching the UK.
