Sindh removes Iftikhar Shallwani as Karachi commissioner, administrator
New commissioner, administrator named after CM Murad Shah's approval

The Sindh government on Saturday removed senior bureaucrat Iftikhar Shallwani from both offices -- the office of the Karachi commissioner and the office of the Karachi administrator.
Shallwani was basically working as Karachi administrator, while had the additional charge of commissioner’s office.
The provincial government has appointed Naveed Ahmad Sheikh new commissioner of Karachi and Laeeq Ahmad administrator of the Sindh capital. Shallwani’s services have been handed over to the federal government.
Laeeq was working as excise secretary before he was transferred and made new administrator of the metropolis.
In a related development, Food Secretary Haleem Sheikh was given the additional charge of the excise department.
These appointments were made after Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah’s approval.
