CM Sindh Shah lays foundation of new KKI grid station

K-Electric Monday got another step closer to ensuring a steady power supply to the people of Karachi as the Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah laid the foundation of a new grid station Kanupp-KE Interconnection (KKI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Murad Ali Shah stated that the KKI grid station is the first grid station in the 500 kilowatt category and the 73rd of K-electric’s system. He said that around $135million USD will be invested in this project of the national grid interconnection and it will link K-Electric’s system to the national grid.
Chief Minister Sindh Shah continued that the Sindh Government is working alongside K-Electric to ensure the progress and development of big cities.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Moonis Abdullah Alvi of K-Electric thanked CM Sindh for allocating 40 acres of land for the KKI grid station project. He said that with the establishment of this new project, Karachi will be capable of supplying up to 2050 MW of electricity to the National Grid.
Murad Ali Shah stated that this project will set Karachi’s economy on track to progress and also provide many job opportunities.
