The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Monday issued notices to Sharam Khan Tarkai, the former Health Minister, for his alleged involvement in the unnecessary purchase of medicines and medical machinery worth millions for the health department.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, NAB has initiated an inquiry to obtain evidence related to all the purchases. Shahram Tarkai has been summoned to the NAB office in Peshawar on December 18 for questioning.
It is noteworthy that Shahram Tarkai is disappeared for a long time after the PTI's regime change, and the police have been pursuing various cases against him.
The former Health Minister is now facing NAB's scrutiny regarding his role in the procurement of medical equipment, raising concerns about financial irregularities within the health department.
The investigation aims to uncover any evidence of corruption or misuse of public funds during Shahram Tarkai's tenure.
