NEPRA Sindh member exposes govt mismanagement behind late LNG imports

Member of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) from Sindh has exposed the Imran led government’s mismanagement behind late imports of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the fact of the government’s mismanagement was exposed by a dissenting note of the NEPRA member Sindh Rafiq Sheikh.
The channel report said Rafiq Sheikh wrote in the note that the burden of mismanagement in LNG cannot be placed on the people.
But, the unavailability of LNG last December added an additional burden of more than Rs2 billion on the consumers, he said adding that better planning could have ensured the supply of LNG.
Rafiq Sheikh also expressed reservations over the purchase of electricity from plants operating without NEPRA approval.
