Farah Iqrar, the second wife of renowned anchor Iqrarul Hassan, has spoken out about his ‘infidelity’ following his third marriage.

Appearing on a podcast, Farah delved into how societal norms in Pakistan shape women to revolve their lives around their husbands.

She criticised this upbringing, saying: "Girls should be taught individuality, not dependency."

Iqrarul Hassan, often in the spotlight for his personal life, has once again fueled debate as Farah’s remarks spark discussions on gender roles and the empowerment of women in traditional households.

A report said a few months ago that Farah Iqrar discussed her husband’s third marriage for the first time.

The report quoted her as saying: “Initially, I felt concerned about Iqrar’s decision, but as I deepened my understanding of Islamic teachings,

“I came to accept it. At one point, I even texted Iqrar, giving him permission for a third marriage, as my perspective evolved with my studies of Islam.”

She added: “In our society, women are often the foundation of the home, contributing to relationships through understanding and compromise. I always accepted Iqrar’s first family and wanted to bring everyone together without a sense of competition.”

According to Farah, Iqrar’s first and second wives have maintained a good rapport despite not meeting for a considerable period. Farah said living in a separate residence is more suitable as it helps avoid conflicts and complexities. She acknowledged that different people have different ways of living.
