Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Sunday reached Sialkot to distribute prizes among players for winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was also present at the ceremony.

Sialkot had won the 18-region Quaid-e-Azam Trophy held in Karachi.

Sialkot had defeated Peshawar by 1 wicket in the final match.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi while addressing the prize distribution ceremony lauded the team’s performance and expressed his delight, stating, "The people of Sialkot deserve heartfelt congratulations for this tremendous achievement. Winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a testament to their talent and passion."

Turning his focus to infrastructure development, the PCB chairman emphasized the need to upgrade the historic Jinnah Stadium. "If the Punjab government constructs Jinnah Stadium, that would be great. However, if not, I have an alternative plan," Naqvi remarked, hinting at a collaborative approach.

He proposed that if the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce agrees to participate, the PCB is ready to partner with the business community to construct or renovate the stadium. "

When the PCB and the business community come together, the results can be extraordinary," he added.

To further encourage cricket in the region, the PCB announced cash prizes for the Sialkot team as a token of appreciation for their outstanding performance.
