Punjab CM Maryam appoints Hina Parvez Butt as PWPA chairperson

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has appointed Hina Parvez Butt as the Chairperson of Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Chairperson Punjab Women Protection Authority was appointed for three years.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Group President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hatim Bamatraf and Group Chief Regulatory Officer Naveed Khalid Butt met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Digitalization and cooperation for digital communication in Punjab were discussed in the meeting.
Hatim Bamatraf appreciated the digital Punjab vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and assured his cooperation.
Hatim Bamatraf gave a briefing on PTCL's high speed internet and better connectivity issues for public projects.
Expansion and improvement of telecommunication infrastructure to improve internet access in urban and rural areas was also discussed in the meeting.
Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that fast internet is very important for getting employment from e-commerce and freelancing services.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said digital technologies projects should be implemented equally in rural and urban areas.
Promoting an enabling environment for digital innovation and investment is among the priorities of the Punjab government, Maryam Nawaz said.
The Chief Minister said that free Wi-Fi service has been launched in Lahore and in other districts will be launched soon.
Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman was also present on the occasion.
