Govt starts inoculating Pfizer jabs in Islamabad

The government has started giving Pfizer Covid-19 jabs to the people as part of a mass vaccination drive, reported 24News HD TV channel on Saturday.
Pfizer jabs will be given to patients with infectious diseases. District Health Officer, in a statement, said that the citizens needed to take their health reports with them at the time of vaccination. He said that the citizens could come to the Mass Vaccination Center F-9 Park, Islamabad.
Pakistan has started the distribution of Pfizer vaccine doses to the provinces as well.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr Faisal Sultan said Tuesday that the vaccine doses will be used to inoculate only the immunocompromised. He said that the federal government was distributing 51,000 doses of the vaccine to the provinces. He said the Pfizer vaccine will be used to inoculate people throughout 15 cities of Pakistan, adding that these cities had ultra-cold freezers. Last month, more than 100,000 doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine arrived in Pakistan through the COVAX facility with the help of UNICEF.
