Sindh CM says main focus of budget is social protection for poor

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the provincial budget focuses on the rehabilitation of the flood-affected people and providing social protection to the poor.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Sindh CM addressed a post-budget news conference in Karachi on Sunday and said his government has allocated over Rs700 billion for the development projects and schemes in the province.
Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah said last year's floods played havoc across the province and his government was making all efforts to complete reconstruction of damaged houses.
He said his government has taken precautionary measures to cope with any unpleasant scene and incident during an expected storm on Tuesday (May 13) in three districts including Thatta, Badin and Sajaval.
The CM said Corps Commander Karachi, Director General Rangers Sindh and Commissioners of these three districts have been directed by the government to remain on high alert and take necessary steps to tackle any untoward incident.
He also told the media that his government has advised the people in the area to stay at home during the storm.
