Federal Budget 2024-25: Rs1500 billion proposed for development spending

The federal government has proposed a total of Rs1500 billion for the Federal Development Program (FDP) in the fiscal year budget 2024-25, which will be announced today, June 12, 2024.
According to the proposed budget documents obtained by 24NewsHD TV channel, a federal development budget of Rs1400 billion is proposed for the upcoming fiscal year, with an additional Rs100 billion set aside under the Public-Private Partnership.
According to the documents, a development budget of Rs 824 billion is proposed for infrastructure for the upcoming fiscal year. A development budget of Rs253 billion is proposed for energy in the new fiscal year while there will be a development budget of Rs279 billion for transport and communications.
For the next fiscal year, a development budget of Rs206 billion is proposed for water projects, the social sector is proposed to have a development budget of Rs280 billion, and Rs 45 billion is proposed for health.
Rs 93 billion are proposed for the Education and Higher Education Commission (HEC) while Rs79 billion is allocated for the Science and IT sector.
For the Parliamentarians' Schemes, Rs75 billion and for Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan's development program, Rs75 billion were proposed.
Rs64 billion for Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Rs42 billion for Food and Agriculture Rs42 billion have been allocated.
The development budget for governance Rs28 billion, for Productive Sectors Rs50 billion and for industried Rs8 billion have been proposed.
