Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Saturday wrote two letters to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to stop Prime Minister’s proposed Malakand visit as a try to influence the Local Government (LG) Elections.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the letters were written by the JUI Malakand chapter’s General Secretary Maulana Salman Taseer and JUI Swat chapter Ameer Qari Fateh Ullah to the ECP separately.
Both the JUI leaders addressed the chief election commissioner in their separate letters directly and requested him to take notice of the PM’s proposed visit to Swat on March 16 and stop him.
In the letters, the JUI leadership has claimed that the Prime Minister is coming to Swat and Malakand for a campaign of his party candidates in the second phase of the LG Election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
