A heavy contingent of the police and ASF personnel remained on their toes as parents and locals of the area continued their protest at Skardu airport against the failure of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to deliver the body of a six-year-old boy on the second consecutive day on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The protestors demanded that arrangements be made immediately to transport the child’s body to Skardu.
Sources told 24News that the PIA’s flight from Islamabad was delayed.
24News had reported on Friday that in an utter example of negligence, a PIA cargo flight forgot a dead body in Islamabad while carrying the aggrieved family to Skardu.
A six-year-old boy, Wajahat, had died in Rawalpindi on Friday morning.
The family booked PIA cargo flight PK451 to carry the body from Islamabad to Skardu.
The grieving family after reaching Skardu airport asked the administration to hand over the body to them but PIA Skardu staff told them that due to the negligence of the PIA Islamabad administration, their child’s dead body could not shipped on this flight.
While hearing the shocking news, the grieved family staged a protest over the gross negligence of the administration and appealed to the administration to hand them over their child’s body as early as possible.
The father, who was carrying the dead body of his son, said he could not explain in words the shock over the gross negligence of the PIA staff. He urged the PIA administration to deliver the body to them as soon as possible.
