Sialkot woman commits ‘suicide’ over second marriage ‘prank’

A 30-year-old woman in Sialkot allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan after her Dubai-based husband joked that he had contracted a second marriage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
However, police said it was unclear whether Fauzia had committed suicide or was she subjected to torture by her in-laws.
It is worth-mentioning here that Fauzia had recorded a video footage prior to her death in which she could be seen threatening that she would commit suicide. Knives and daggers could also be seen in the video.
In the FIR registered on the complaint of victim’s family, it was alleged that Fouzia’s in-laws tortured her to death, adding that she had been tortured in the past as well.
Sialkot police spokesperson said that the Force would investigate the matter from all possible angles.
