Man throws acid on woman for refusing to marry him in Lahore

A man threw acid on a woman for declining his offer for marriage in Kahna area of Lahore on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, accused Asif wanted to marry 25-year-old Tehmeena who turned down his marriage proposal as the accused was already married.
Infuriated Asif along with his companions threw acid on Tehmeena whose face and other parts of body were badly burnt in the incident. She was shifted to a nearby hospital.
After throwing acid, Asif and his accomplices ran away. Police registered a case.
Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar took notice of the incident and directed police to arrest the accused.
Due to timely action by the Kahna police under the supervision of Model Town SP Hassan Jeved Bhatti, the law enforcers succeeded in arresting main accused Asif.
Police informed that the accused threw acid on the woman because she refused to marry him. They said that he along with his companions entered the house of the woman in the absence of her parents and threw acid on her. As a result, her arm and other parts of body were burnt.
The SP said that accused Asif was handed over to the investigation wing and police were conducting raids for the arrest of his accomplices.
