Green to red flag shift: Usman Mukhtar defends his odd behavior as Dr Numair in 'Jaffa'

Celebrated Pakistani actor Usman Mukhtar took to his social media and addressed the conflict that arose behind his role as Dr. Numair in the latest episode of the ongoing Pakistani drama serial 'Jafaa'.
In the latest episode, Numair and Andaleeb are blessed with a baby girl but he questions the paternity of the baby and doubts his wife fueled by his medical history.
Fans who once admired Numair are disheartened as he questions whether his newborn daughter is truly his, suspecting Moiz (Andaleeb’s first love) could be her father.
The character sheds light on the societal pressure that one has to handle if they disclose their infertility that’s the only reason he kept it a secret even being a doctor himself.
Andaleeb cannot understand what is going through Numair’s mind as he is so distant from his baby and wife. Numair keeps comparing himself to the baby girl and he will also try to get a DNA test while Andaleeb will now know the truth.

Fans are not happy with it because he has been portrayed as a mature character and the audience did not expect that he would doubt his own wife.

Usman Mukhtar also defended Andaleeb’s character (played by Sehar Khan) where she reacted to Numair and also shared his wife’s stance about it. His Instagram post says, “Andaleeb’s reaction is completely justified."
He further added that he chose the Jafaa script because it addresses the issues of the society that are often stigmatized or overlooked like domestic violence and infertility.
Jafaa captivated the audience with its unique story line addressing many social issues that are not openly discussed in Pakistani society.
The artists have done justice with their roles as fans appreciate a few characters more than others.
Dr. Numair, played by Usman, is the character who has received the most appreciation from the start. Usman gave Numair a beautiful heart with a green flag personality, a caring, loving, and understanding person.
