Cabinet condemns Israeli aggression, demands Palestine's pre-1967 status

The federal cabinet's Wednesday meeting presided over by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar strongly condemned the Israeli aggression in Gaza and demanded the restoration of the pre-1967 status of Palestine as per the resolutions of the United States (UN).
According to the 24News HD TV channel, caretaker federal ministers Murtaza Solangi, Fawad Hasan Fawad and others held a press conference after the cabinet meeting and briefed about the key decisions taken by the caretaker government.
Information Minister Murtaza Solangi told the media that the federal cabinet discussed the situation in Palestine and issued a demand for its resolution based on United Nations resolutions. He said the cabinet also called for the restoration of the pre-1967 status of Palestine.
Murtaza Solangi said the cabinet strongly condemned Israel's bombings in Gaza, expressing particular concern for innocent Kashmiris and the civilian population affected. They highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, including food and water shortages.
He said the cabinet attributed recent tensions in Occupied Palestine to Israel's decades-long illegal occupation, oppression of Palestinians, and its open violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
A call was made for an immediate cessation of bombings in Gaza and an end to the illegal siege, he said adding that the cabinet also urged the international community to provide aid to the victims.
The minister said the cabinet reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for the resolution of the Palestine issue in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinian people. They advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders and its capital in al-Quds al-Sharif (Jerusalem).
Murtaza Solangi said caretaker PM Kakar directed federal ministers to limit foreign visits to essential matters.
He informed that the cabinet approved the appointment of Sohail Nasir as Deputy Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Syed Ehtsham Qadir Shah as NAB Prosecutor General Accountability.
He said the cabinet gave the green light to receive a medal from China, assigned to Brigadier Shahid Amir Afshar, recognizing his contributions to Pakistan-China relations.
He said two extradition agreements were approved by the cabinet, the first allows for the extradition of Shahzad Ahmed, a Pakistani citizen wanted in a fraud case, under the extradition agreement between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, and the second agreement permits the extradition of Arshad Ali under the extradition agreement between Kuwait and Pakistan.
Talking about the PIA privatization issue, he informed that the cabinet approved the engagement of a financial advisory consortium for the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
