Cops receive empty cartridges for polio duty

A video has surfaced on internet in which a police official, posted to escort polio workers in anti-polio drive in Peshawar, has revealed that they were given empty cartridges in magazines, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
After the video of the official complaining about empty cartridges went viral on social media, CCPO Muhammad Ijaz Khan ordered an inquiry to find out the facts.
According to a Peshawar police spokesman, an inquiry committee comprising DSP Sher Afzal Khan and DSP Akhtar Naseer Khan has been formed which will look into the matter.
After the investigation, the involved officials will face strict departmental action.
The counting orders have been issued before handing over of government arms, ammunition, he added.
On the other hand, police claimed that all of the officials, who have travelled from various districts to perform their polio duty, are receiving weapons, and that officials will receive full and accurate official weapons and ammunition and other protective equipment.
