A heavy contingent of police in Wazirabad have laid siege to the residence of PTI-SIC MNA Ahmad Chattha, who is the son of senior politician and former National Assembly speaker Hamid Nasir Chattha, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Sources in the police have told 24News that Ahmad is wanted in connection with an incident of violence on May 9.
Ahmad’s family, on the other hand, has said that he has been granted bail in all 49 cases registered against him, and that he had returned home only two days ago after spending several months in jail.
These days Ahmad is busy campaigning for his brother Fayyaz Chattha, who is contesting a by-election from PP-36.
Currently, Ahmad is on a 14-day transit bail in a May 9-related case.
Soon after hearing the police raid, a large number of people, including lawyers, have reached the MNA’s home.
