The cabinet division has refused to hand over the record of Toshakhana, from 1990 to 2002, to the auditor general (AG), saying it is ‘classified’; so therefore cannot be shared, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
As per the documents available with the 24News, the division has also refused to share with the AG the record of the first entry register, Toshakhana stock register and bank challans.
Not only that, the division has also refused to make confirmation of the gifts deposited in different government departments during the aforementioned period as well as to hand over to the AG the list of auctioned gifts.
On the other hand, declaring the division’s refusal ‘unacceptable’, the AG has ordered an investigation into it.
