Children ‘kept’ mom’s body in freezer for 10 years

February 13, 2020 04:51 PM

There have been many examples of children showing affection and love to their parents but what happened in Karachi is both unique and unbelievable. A son and a daughter kept corpse of their dead mother, 65-year-old Zakia, in a deep freezer for about 10 years.

When both the kids died, Zakia’s brother Mehboob started looking after her sister’s body. But when her body started decaying, he threw it out on a garbage dump.

The matter was brought to the notice of the local police which have registered a case against Mehboob. The accused informed the police that his sister’s children used to adore their mother and thus did not allow her body to be buried.

The police are investigating whether Zakia was murdered or she died of natural causes. Another question is whether Zakia’s children died their natural death or they were murdered.

Police are awaiting the postmortem report after which forensic investigation would also begin to reach a conclusion to resolve this mystery.
