Four schoolchildren injured in Gujrat knife attack

A deranged man injured four minor students in a knife attack in Kakrali area of Gujrat on Thursday.

The police arrested the assailant identified as Abu Bakar. The police said that the accused seemed to be mentally challenged.

He attacked the children on their way back home from school. The injured kids were identified as 11-year-old Muhammad Ahmed and nine-year-old Usman, both brothers; Bilal Asif,12, and eight-year-old Omar.

The students sustained stab wounds in the head and other parts of the bodies. The students were rushed to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

The attack spread panic in the area and people rushed to schools for the safety of their kids.

The police have launched further investigation.
