Lahore Qalandars officials express confident in squad selection

Lahore Qalandars owner Sameen Rana and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi shared insights into the team’s success and future plans during a press conference held on Monday. 

Discussing the team’s past triumphs, Sameen Rana remarked, “We have won two seasons, thanks to the exceptional performances of our local players. Their efforts have been instrumental in securing our victories.” He further praised the contribution of key players like Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Haris Rauf, describing them as the backbone of Lahore Qalandars.

Highlighting the selection process for the Platinum Category, Rana said, “All players in the category were excellent, but Daryl Mitchell stood out as the best fit for our team. Hence, we decided to pick him.” He also expressed confidence in Asif Ali’s abilities, calling him a talented and valuable player.

Shaheen Afridi, the team’s captain, emphasized his commitment to leading from the front. “I strive to excel in both bowling and batting,” he stated. “But my primary responsibility is to deliver exceptional bowling performances and help the team win.”

The press conference also underscored Lahore Qalandars’ dedication to youth development. Rana explained, “Our focus is to provide opportunities to young players who can perform for the country. This initiative is central to our vision.”
