The private housing schemes in Punjab which so far have no natural gas facility to provide to their customers, will also be deprived of government subsidy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources informed 24News TV channel on Tuesday that people who want to buy a house in private housing schemes they should beware as expensive Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) will be supplied to their houses instead of natural gas

According to an estimate, the consumers will have to pay at least Rs1,500 gas bill for cooking on the LNG-fuelled stoves. The domestic consumers of the private housing societies will have to pay four bills in one month as the gas bill will have to be paid every week. In case of non-payment, the gas supply will be stopped.

Sources said the decision was taken in view of fast depleting resources of gas. Before this the domestic consumers were provided with natural gas.
