Although the flour mills association’s strike against withholding tax entered the second day, no talks were held.

The members of Flour Mills Association Sindh chapter held a meeting.  A large number of flour millers from all over Sindh including Karachi participated in the meeting.

“We will continue with the strike,” said Flour Mills Sindh chapter chairman Chaudhry Amir Abdullah

He added: “The participation of all flour millers in today's meeting showed that that we are united.

“The strike will not be called off until the withholding tax is withdrawn.”

If the strike continues, there is fear of a flour crisis across Sindh including Karachi as the wholesale market has a two-day stock.
