FIA to probe PM’s aide Dr Zafar Mirza for smuggling face masks

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a probe into the alleged involvement of Dr Zafar Mirza in the smuggling of 20 million face masks to the foreign countries.
The complaint read that Special Assistant to PM on Health Dr Zafar Mirza in collusion with the deputy director of DRAP Ghazanfar Ali smuggled 20 million face masks to other countries.
Young Pharmacists’ Association’s General Secretary Dr Furqan Ibrahim submitted an application to the Prime Minister’s complaint cell whose subject was:
“20 million face masks were smuggled out of Pakistan by aide of Mr Ghazanfar Ali Khan S/O Mr Maqbool Khan Deputy Director DRAP and Dr Zafar Mirza, Special Assistant to Prime Minister - complaint submitted by Pakistan Young Pharmacists Association.”
FIA’s Additional Director General has directed to submit the report within 15 days.
1,500 Cleared at Taftan
Meanwhile, in another development, 1,500 pilgrims who came from Iran and were kept in a quarantine centre, Pakistan House, at Taftan were allowed to go home as they did not show any signs of infection related to coronavirus.
Currently, there are around 5,000 pilgrims admitted to six quarantine centres including Pakistan House.
Currently, there are over 80 people in Mian Ghandi. These are those who came from Iran illegally, the PDMA said.
