Official clarifies reports about closure of schools in Lahore

Punjab Secretary (Schools) Khalid Nazir Wattoo said on Sunday that all public and private schools in Lahore will open as per routine on Monday.

He said that parents will be updated late night if there is any update closure of schools on Monday. He however said the government has not issued any orders for closure of schools for now.

Lahore, like other parts of the country, has been tense for the last few days as the local administration has laid a complete siege to the city as part of its efforts to contain protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of jailed former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
