Assemblies to complete terms: Punjab Assembly speaker

Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi said It has been agreed that the present assemblies will complete their terms, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday .

“The constitution and the law are very clear. The National Assembly speaker should act on it,” the Punjab Assembly speaker said in an informal media talk.

“We have made our minds, and consultations with companions are on,” he said, adding that the PML-Q, MQM and Balochistan Awami Party are working together.

Prime Minister Imran Khan should continue with his efforts, he said.

He added that the PML-Q ministers will step down, if the party joins hands with the opposition parties.

The PML-Q leader said Aun Chaudhry of Jahangir Khan Tareen group held a meeting today and his group will let the party know about its decision in a couple of days.

A meeting with Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif can take place at any time.
