In a thrilling display of cricket, Pakistan emerged as the champions of the Deaf International Council T20 World Cup 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The tournament, organized by the Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC), was held at the Vision Cricket Centre in Sharjah, UAE.
The final match saw Pakistan’s Deaf Cricket Team face off against Sri Lanka. Batting first, Pakistan set a challenging target of 151 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing only six wickets in the process.
The star performers with the bat were Basit Abbasi and Faizan Khan, who contributed 62 and 28 runs respectively to the team’s total.
Sri Lanka, chasing a target of 152, was bowled out for a mere 63 runs, resulting in a resounding victory for Pakistan by 88 runs.
The Pakistani bowlers, led by fast bowler Jabar Ali and Manzoor Khan, were instrumental in this win. Ali claimed three wickets in just two overs, while Khan matched his tally in four overs.
This victory marks a significant achievement for Pakistan in the world of deaf cricket. The tournament, now in its fourth edition, saw participation from six teams: Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Australia, and Bangladesh.
