Smart Safe City projects to be launched in 18 Punjab cities

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Punjab Safe City Authorities and National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) under which Smart Safe City projects would be launched in 18 cities of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was the special guest on the occasion.
Under the agreement, Air Quality Index Monitoring Environment Censors will also be installed.
Safe City projects will become functional in Gujrat, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Okara and Taxila by May-end this year, while they will be completed in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Jhang, Attock, Hassan Abdal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sialkot, Murree, Okara, Mianwali this year.
Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, chief secretary, P&D chairman, secretary interior, inspector general of police, Punjab, secretary finance, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
